LAB PARTNER SAFETY PROJECT

Lab safety is always important in our classroom.  It is a lab after all.  As a matter of fact, it is ALWAYS  a lab and it ALWAYS needs to be treated that way.  Even when we are not doing experiments.

You and your lab partner will need to get familiar with the parts of our lab and what our lab procedures are for experiments and if an accident happens.

YOUR GOAL:  You and your lab partner will make a poster that will include a floor plan of the room.

On your poster you will include:

  1. A floor plan of the room
  2. Every safety device and it's location in the room
  3. All entrances and exits
  4. Definition and description of each safety device
  5. How to use each safety device

Definitions, descriptions, and instructions are available in class on a printed handout.

  • Write your and your lab partner's name and class period on the back of the poster
  • you may use colored markers or colored pencils
  • make sure your hand writing is legible
  • samples of this poster project can be found posted on the chalkboard

YOU AND YOUR LAB PARTNER WILL PRESENT YOUR POSTER IN ONE WEEK.

All posters will be on display after the presentations.

If you have any questions or concerns then post a comment below or email the teacher.

Use The Force! Episode 3

Now that you know about balanced and unbalanced forces, you can finish the assignment below.  Remember, balanced forces are represented by the same number and "N" equals the amount of force in Newtons.

Match each force problem in the  big box on the right with one of the 4 answers in the lower left of the image.  Each answer has a number in Newtons and a direction.  Each answer will only be used once.

Write your name on a piece of blank paper with your class period underneath.  Then write your answers below and turn it in to the basket in the front of the room.  If you use a Word document then email it to me with your first and last name in the subject line.

Use The Force! Episode 2

For the second assignment you will complete it by using the same method you did for Part 1.  Read the assignment and then use a blank piece of paper or a Word document on your computer.  Remember to write your name and class period in the upper left corner.

In the image below, read the information in the box on the right and then the instructions above the box on the left.  Use your piece of paper or your Word document to complete the instructions for the two words in the box.

If you have any questions then ask in the comments below.

Use The Force! Episode I

This week we will be finding out what causes objects to move.  But why?  For that matter why do things stop moving, or change direction?

Read and complete the assignment below.  Use a piece of blank paper or start a new Word file on your laptop.  At the top write your name (first and last), grade, and class period on the top left.

After you read "What is Net Force?- Part 1", look at the top left side of the assignment.  You'll see instructions there for what you will write on your blank paper or in your Word document.  Follow the instructions for each of the three words.  When you have finished, turn your assignment in.  If you used a sheet of paper then bring the assignment to the "Turn In Basket" at the front of the class.  If you used a Word document then email it to me with you first and last name in the subject line of the email.

Ask in the comments below if you have any questions.
